Charlotte Thursdays is a monthly series of lectures dealing with topics of current significance within the Christian community. Each month a Thursday evening lecture, beginning at 7pm and open to the public, will be given by professionals in various disciplines relevant to the topic at hand. The goal of these lectures is to provide timely, thought-provoking information about issues currently being discussed and debated within the broader Christian community. People from all faith-traditions (or from no particular faith) are welcome to listen, ask questions, and discuss with the guest speaker about the topic at hand.
Current debates about politics and government, arts and entertainment, sciences and academies will all be open for discussion throughout our 2008 series. Some questions raised may not find fully satisfactory answers, but the goal of this series is to provide a forum for community discussion and dialog without political agendas or partisan platforms. No “trendy” music, no gimmicks, no altar calls.
Time is one of your most valuable possessions and giving up a weekday evening can be a challenge. With that in mind we promise to keep these lectures and discussions brief (75 minutes) while still allowing for questions and comments from the floor. So for at least one Thursday night, come try us out and see what you think. We’ll do our best to make it a great use of your Thursday night!
Charlotte Thursdays are held at All Saints’ Presbyterian Church on McKee Rd. near Providence Rd. and I-485. Childcare is provided for all events.
