Warren Smith is an award-winning journalist, radio and television personality, and speaker for conservative and Christian groups around the country. He is currently host of the syndicated radio program “Worldviews with Warren Smith,” heard weekly on the Sirius Satellite Radio Network. He also publishes and edits the Evangelical Press News Service, which provides news content to about 100 Christian newspapers around the country.

His professional accomplishments include the publication of over 1000 articles on a variety of business, social, and literary topics. His essays, reviews, interviews, and articles have also been included in various books, including “Public Relations,” one of the most widely used college journalism textbooks in the world. He served as editor of Tales from the High Country, published in 2003, and its sequel, More Tales from the High Country, scheduled for a 2008 release date. A collection of his interviews with conservative leaders, Voices That Carry, was published in 2005. He is the co-author, with Dr. Alex McFarland, of the book Stand Strong in College, a college “spiritual survival guide,” published by Tyndale Publishers in August of 2007. His latest book, A Lover’s Quarrel With The Evangelical Church is due from Authentic Books/Paternoster Press in December 2008.

Before turning his attention to Christian publishing, Warren wrote and published outdoor and adventure stories for such magazines as “Alaska” magazine, “High Country” magazine, “High Adventure” magazine, and “Sports Afield.”

Professional and civic honors include selection to Outstanding Young Men In America and Who’s Who Among American Executives. In 1997 The Business Journal of Charlotte chose him as one of Charlotte’s “40 Under 40,” an annual list of the city’s business and civic leaders under the age of 40.
As a publisher, Warren’s papers have reported on some of the most important stories of our time. The Charlotte World, which he edits and publishes, has won many awards from the Evangelical Press Association (EPA) and the Fellowship of Christian Newspapers (FCN). In both 2005 and 2006, it was named “Christian Newspaper of the Year.” In 2007, Warren was named “Columnist of the Year” by these organizations.

Warren has been an active supporter of the Boy Scouts for more than 30 years. He is an Eagle Scout and he served for seven years on the staff at Philmont Scout Ranch. He is the immediate past president and a current board member of the Philmont Staff Association.

His education includes a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in English, both from the University of Georgia. In addition to his work in Christian and secular media and publishing, he spent seven years as a senior marketing professional with the international firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.

He and his wife Missy have four children, and they live in Charlotte, North Carolina. He speaks often at churches, conferences, and other Christian and political events.
